Two of my great passions in life are travel and photography. It is an amazing experience to observe and photograph such varied cultures and I see it as a great privilege that I am able to share the beauty and diversity of the world I've seen with others.

The images taken by other photographers have inspired me throughout my many adventures, so now I hope my own contributions will inspire others to go out and see the world for themselves.

Kimberley Coole is a member of the X-Rite’s prestigious Coloratti group. We believe that good images of our country are essential in the promotion and branding of the Faroe Islands and we are therefore constantly looking for new photographers who can see the Faroe Islands through their fresh and unbiased eyes.

Kimberley Coole travelled to the Faroe Islands this spring. We are very pleased with the result of her work and the fantastic new images she has given us. The pictures she has taken capture the essence of the Faroe Islands and are already part of the images we use in the promotion of our country and will be for a long time.

Kimberley was selected as a multi-image finalist for the prestigious Travel Photographer of the Year Award 2012. One of the images chosen for the finals received a commendation from the judges and was exhibited at the Royal Geographical Society in London.

“The Travel Photographer of the Year award is a photography contest that's run by photographers for photographers. It's open to photographers from all countries and is judged by leading photography experts.

TPOTY is about getting amazing international exposure for your work and past winners have seen their image sales soar along with interest in their photography. We're often approached by picture buyers wanting to source images and our galleries are amongst the most visited pages on the whole Travel Photographer of the Year website.

The best images feature in the beautiful TPOTY "Journey" portfolio books as well as our exhibitions, featuring the winning images from the awards, at the Royal Geographical Society.”

Kimberley was selected as a multi-category finalist for the Eyes on Asia Awards 2013 and won the professional Sense of Place category.

“The Eyes on Asia Awards are looking for images that are positive, uplifting, inspiring, sometimes funny or quirky. Images that inspire the viewer to want to travel to unique and beautiful places across Asia & Oceania; Images that make you want to pack your bag, jump on a plane and disappear to an exotic island, a mountain range, or a jungle. We want images that show us something familiar, yet with a new perspective, and give the viewer a ‘sense of place’.

The Eyes on Asia Awards does not want photojournalistic, gritty and/or troubling images. There are other contests covering those topics. We do not aim to make political statements or to focus in on the misery of others. While we look certainly for high quality photography, this is a contest that likes to celebrate travel and the beauty of life. We do not want to show the dirty and troubled side of a country, which in many cases you certainly may also find if you look for it.”
