Back in The Capital
Never one to turn down time in London, I added on a day to my Trooping the Colour trip. After spending a lot of time in our wonderful Capital recently I only had a few remaining areas on my shot list, well for this season anyway! One of my favourite locations is Tower Bridge; such an iconic shot and such a great area. Not only are there endless shots to take there are numerous coffee shops nearby, an essential drink for any working travel photographer!
More Place is also a great place for a shoot, every direction offers something new and photogenic, but being limited by blue hour means your focus really needs to remain on one area. My choice for this particular evening was the shot of the office buildings, performance area and shard in the background. I am hoping that when winter comes back around the snow will follow, we’ll just have to wait and see about that but what a treat that would be. London in the snow would be stunning!
Sadly the one day I had free before Trooping the Colour offered nothing but non-stop rain, so I decided to head into the Underground and try to get a few shots of the famous tube. A quick bit of research told me that I couldn’t use my tripod down there and so all images had to be hand held, in other words – very high ISO’s – something I normally never use but rather than not get the shots, up it went. Rest assured the moment I got back outside it was put back to its normal setting!
The following morning was Trooping the Colour, but I’ll save those shots for their own blog…
